Chiara Sciarrino

Chiara Sciarrino is an Associate Professor of English Literature at the University of Palermo. She was Head Organiser of the 10th EFACIS conference, held in Palermo in June 2015. She has an MA in Anglo-Irish Literature and Drama (UCD), a PhD (IULM University) – her thesis focused on the influence of Italian culture in contemporary Irish literature – and a research fellowship (IULM). She has worked as an Italian Language Assistant at two Dublin schools mandated by the Italian Ministry of Education, and has obtained scholarships from Trinity College Dublin, The Italian Ministry of Public Education, Synge Summer School, Yeats Summer School, and Trieste Joyce School. She is the author of numerous articles on Irish writers, four volumes, and has edited two collections of essays on topics in Irish literature and theatre.
