Irene De Angelis

Irene De Angelis is an Associate Professor of English Literature at the University of Turin. Her research interests include East-West Studies, Ecocriticism, representations of old age in Literature, Literature and the Visual Arts, and the analysis of modern manuscripts. She is the author of Strange intimacy: i drammi Nō di W.B. Yeats (2010), Oltre i confini. Orizzonti internazionali nella poesia di Derek Mahon [Beyond borders. International horizons in Derek Mahon's poetry] (2010), and The Japanese Effect in Contemporary Irish Poetry (Palgrave Macmillan, 2012). With Joseph Woods, she edited the anthology Our Shared Japan. An Anthology of Contemporary Irish Poetry (The Dedalus Press, 2007), which was published on the fiftieth anniversary of diplomatic relations between Ireland and Japan. She has also published papers and book chapters on Rudyard Kipling, W.S. Maugham, Aldous Huxley, Alan Bennett, Samuel Beckett, Seamus Heaney, Derek Mahon, Michael Longley, and Marina Carr. She is a Council Member of EFACIS (European Federation of Associations and Centres of Irish Studies).
