Loredana Salis

Loredana Salis (MA, PhD) is an Associate Professor of English Literature at the University of Sassari. Her research interests include nineteenth-century narratives, exile narratives, and adaptations of literary canons. She has published essays on the use of myth (2009) and the theatrical representation of the migrant Other (2010) in contemporary Irish literature as well as articles on Gaskell, H. Martineau, Dickens, G. Eliot, E. O'Brien, Carr, F. McGuinness, Morrissy, and Heaney. She has translated Dickens's theatrical works (2013) and W. B. Yeats's prose (2015). She edited the Italian edition of Constance Markievicz's Letters from Prison (2017) and is currently working on Markievicz's political writings. In 2019, she edited a monographic issue of SIJIS, Irish Studies. A Journal of Irish Studies dedicated to the Irish diaspora (2019). She is currently preparing a new translation into Italian of two plays by George Bernard Shaw. She is a board member of ANDA (Associazione nazionale dei docenti di anglistica) and EFACIS (European Federation of Associations and Centres of Irish Studies).
